Feel Great After an Aromatherapy Bath


Weíve been accustomed to taking a bath with simply soap and water. But did you know that an aromatherapy bath is even better? Yes a lot of people have done it and you too can experience the benefits.

The first thing you have to do is buy the essential oil. You can order this online or directly from the store. These oils are usually packed in dark colored bottles and if you read the label, you will see what kind of oil is inside.

For you to enjoy an aromatherapy bath, you should get a bottle of chamomile, jasmine, lavender, sandalwood or ylang-ylang. Once the tub has been filled, you will then pour in 8 to 10 drops and let it mix for awhile before going in.

The difference with an aromatherapy bath with what you do regularly is that you donít have to rub the oil on your skin. You simply lie in the tub for 15 minutes and then feel good all over thanks to the scents which sends a positive signal to the brain.

With that, you donít have to go to a spa anymore to relax when all you need is in your bathroom. If you want to spice it up, you can even play some relaxing music and light an aromatherapy candle.

But you might ask what oil is great to use for an aromatherapy bath? Well you can use one essential oil or mix this with a few others.

One concoction is by mixing lavender oil with blackberry, rosemary, peppermint and cypress oil together with some massaging oil. Another is bergamot, cedar wood, frankincense, geranium and ylang-ylang.

If the different bath oils are not available, try using bath salts that will also produce the same effects.

One thing you should remember before trying any aromatherapy oil is to check if you have an allergic reaction to it. The best way to do that is called a patch test by putting a drop or two of this on your skin and then covering this up with a bandage.

If after 24 hours your skin has no allergic reaction to the oil, then it is safe for you to use when you decide to take an aromatherapy bath.

An aromatherapy bath is great whenever you feel stressed. The best part is that you can do this as often as you want and all you have to do is make sure you have a supply of oils stored in your home whenever you need it.

After lying in the tub for several minutes, donít forget to rinse yourself first before toweling off. That way, all the oil will be removed from you body and the only thing left is the great scent.

Some say that can aromatherapy bath is not only good for the body but also for the mind and the soul. You will never understand that until you have tried it out yourself and if you enjoyed it as other have, chances are you will be doing this more often.

One great tip to make the aromatherapy bath great each time you do it is to try different oils. There are more than 50 of these oils available so why donít you get another bottle and have some fun.
